Diaper Drive will benefit children, families in need
Hundreds of children, parents, and grandparents in need will benefit from the Third Annual
Diaper Drive for Hope House in September.
Hope House, a multi-service center in Bellingham, is a collaborative program between Catholic Community Services and the Catholic parishes of Bellingham. It provides basic assistance for more than 10,000 people annually.
The collection of diapers, other baby products, and cash donations will take place Wednesday, Sept. 12, from 2 until 7 p.m. at the five Haggen Food and Pharmacy stores in Whatcom County. More than a dozen volunteers will be on hand to accept donations. Drop-off bins will be available at the stores Sept. 13-18.
In addition to diapers -- preferably in the larger sizes 4 and 5 -- Hope House welcomes pull-ups, wipes, shampoo, formula and other products, said Cheri Woolsey, Hope House program manager. “Parents and grandparents who have no other way to get baby products tell us every day how grateful they are for these donations,” she said.
